Overview
The main mistake to avoid.
Completing this course will help you:
- Remember and know what the main technique of the arm is
- Understand why the grip is the way it is
- Maintain your power
- Keep the integrity of the most important part of your serve, because even when not using your legs, if this wrist motion is correct, your serve can be quite strong
Who is the course for?
Everyone who was ever not taught what the wrist snap is correctly.
Learning Path
An incorrect wrist loses a lot of power, and defeats the purpose of the Continental grip. You may have limited speed on the ball in the air, but the speed on the bounce definitely won’t be faster. And the truth is the bounce of a ball should be faster than the ball flew while it was in the air. Or it should at least maintain the same speed, but not slow down. That is a key feature of high level tennis. (See Tilden’s Book for the difference between Pace and Speed on a shot.)
